The “Centre de Chirurgie Orthopedique Pediatrique et de Rehabilitation, Sainte Marie de Rilima” (CCO Rilima) located in Bugesera District, Eastern Province, organizes a three days training of 21, include the doctors, nurses and physiotherapists, in partnership with Centura Health, Global Health Initiative and Hope Walks, from Wednesday, 15th January to Friday, 17th January 2020.
Topic of this session: TREATMENT OF CLUBFOOT DEFORMITY WITH PONSETI METHOD.
21 medical actors from different hospitals of Rwanda, including 5
nurses, 5 physiotherapists, 8 residents, 2 doctors and a surgeon are
participating in this training in order to increase their knowledge.
Facilitators of this session: Espérance Uwizeye (Senior Trainer-Hope
Walks), Dr Emmanuel Nsengiyumva (Medical Director of CCO Rilima), Dr
Albert Nzayisenga (Director General of CCO Rilima), Jean Claude
Habyarimana (Program Manager-Hope Walks) and Alain Munyeshuri
(Clinical Supervisor-Hope Walks).
The first day of this Training was about; introduction of Clubfoot and
Ponseti, Anatomy and definitions, Clubfoot deformity-CAVE, Pirani
score, Ponseti method of manipulation, applying Ponseti casts, three
Practical sessions in small groups and a room set up for Practical
session 2.
